Casemiro: Man United star bids farewell to Old Trafford in style

Manchester United defeated Nottingham Forest to finish their home season in the best possible way.

Pleasing farewell to Old Trafford for 2025/2026

The 3-2 win saw Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha join fellow new signing Benjamin Sesko on 10 Premier League goals for the season.

Bruno Fernandes also equalled the Premier League record of 20 assists in a season and has one game against Brighton and Hove Albion to break it next Sunday.

Casemiro

Brazil midfielder Casemiro also said goodbye to Old Trafford when he was substituted off after 81 minutes.

The Stretford End unveiled a dedicated banner to acknowledge Casemiro before the game, and the fans regularly sang his song throughout the match.

The midfielder played two key passes in an overall very attacking display from the Red Devils, who had a total of 29 shots on goal.

He also completed 89% of his passes in an impressive effort.

Casemiro had three shots on goal, two of which were blocked. He almost got the perfect send-off when his poked effort almost found the back of the net in the first half but unfortunately dribbled just wide of the post.

The former Real Madrid man did win 100% of his aerial duels but was only able to win three of his eight ground contests.

It was not a perfect session for him, though, as he failed to complete any crosses, win any tackles, and was dribbled past three times.

He also made an error which led to a shot at goal but luckily it did not end up in a Forest goal.

Next step

Casemiro is likely to play his last game on Sunday against Brighton and will then go to the World Cup with Brazil before entering free agency.

He has been heavily linked with a move to join Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the United States, and Manchester United fans will surely track his next move with interest.
