After another thrilling week of the high school baseball season, it’s time to look back on the best performances.

Michael Kamper, Wayne Valley
Kamper drove the Indians (11-12) to a 3-0 week and a share of the Big North Independence Division crown. The senior batted .400 (4 for 10), featuring two homers in a 12-4 win over Passaic Valley. He totaled three walks, five runs and nine RBIs.
Luke Kopczynski, Cresskill
Kopczynski led Cougars (9-12) to a 4-0 week and earned two complete-game wins. Over 14 innings, the senior allowed one earned run on 10 hits and two walks and struck out 16. He batted .455 (5 for 11), with two walks, three hit by a pitch, two runs and five RBIs.
Ryan Nitch, Ridgewood
Nitch guided the Maroons (18-6) to a 3-0 week that clinched the Big North Freedom Division title. The senior batted .636 (7 for 11), featuring homers against Paramus and Bergen Tech. He also had two doubles, two walks, six runs and nine RBIs.
Kenny Ortiz, Elmwood Park
Ortiz led the Crusaders (11-12) to a 4-0 week, tossing a pair of five-inning shutouts and featuring a no-hitter. Over 10 innings, the senior allowed three hits, four walks and struck out 22 – 11 in each game – while keeping his team in contention for a winning season.
Braiden Russell, Midland Park
Russell guided the Panthers (14-9) to a 3-0 week that all but guarantees a winning season. The senior threw six innings, allowing three hits, no earned runs, no walks and striking out seven in a 4-1 win over Wood-Ridge. He totaled two hits, two runs and five RBIs.
Luke Senatore, Fort Lee
Senatore powered the Bridgemen (18-4) to a 4-0 week and the Big North American Division title. The senior batted .538 (7 for 13), featuring two homers. He had two walks, two steals, five runs and seven RBIs to help extend the team’s winning streak to five games.
Luke Sobek, Dumont
Sobek drove the Huskies (14-11) to a 4-0 week that featured a trio of one-run victories. The senior batted .462 (6 for 13), with three walks, three steals, six runs and 10 RBIs. He had two hits, three runs, and five RBIs in a 12-1 victory over Dwight Morrow.
Sean Spitaleri, Glen Rock
Spitaleri led the Panthers (17-5) to a 3-0 week that clinched the NJIC Colonial Division crown. The senior batted .427 (3 for 7), featuring a homer, with two walks, two runs and four RBIs. In 6 2/3 innings, he allowed one earned run on four hits, no walks and struck out 10.
Lucas Suarez, Lodi
Suarez paced the Rams (15-5) to a 4-0 week and share of the NJIC American Division title. Over 11 innings, the sophomore allowed no earned runs on three hits, two walks and struck out 14. He also contributed four hits, four runs, four RBIs and nine steals.
