Conor McGregor has taken a shot at Nate Diaz following his return to MMA, which ended in defeat.

The UFC legend had switched to boxing after his submission win over Tony Ferguson in September 2022.

Diaz made his way back to the cage two fights later, taking on Mike Perry in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Perry put on a dominant display and forced a stoppage between rounds after three one-sided rounds. And after the fight, McGregor took the opportunity to pile on.

Despite winning comfortably in what was billed as an exhibition bout with no judges or official scores being recorded, Perry still expressed interest in fighting Diaz again under different rules.

McGregor mocks Nate Diaz following his defeat to Mike Perry

Nate Diaz was left with cuts all over his face and blood pouring down after going two rounds against Mike Perry in the Netflix live event.

Diaz’s corner decided before the third round that he wasn’t fit to keep fighting, so they called it off. Conor McGregor didn’t waste any time reacting to Diaz’s stoppage by Perry, jumping on social media the next day.

The Irishman pointed out that Diaz had turned down the chance to finish their trilogy this summer.

“I see why @NateDiaz209 didn’t take the fight lol,” McGregor tweeted. “Anyway, here’s to when I get my hands on you, you lanky streak #TrilogyAndIGonnaNeedMyMoney.”

Conor McGregor’s comeback date set for July

Conor McGregor is set to make his long-awaited return to MMA this summer, ending a five-year hiatus.

The UFC made it official during Francis Ngannou’s win over Philipe Lins: McGregor will headline UFC 329 on July 11.

He’ll face Max Holloway in a five-round main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This will be the second time the two have met, with McGregor winning their first encounter back in 2013 despite suffering a torn ACL during the bout.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see if Holloway can even the score or if McGregor adds another chapter to his legacy when he steps back into the Octagon.
