Final 2025-26 Philadelphia 76ers player grades: Quentin Grimes

The 2025-26 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 45-37 and as the No. 7 seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs before upsetting the Boston Celtics in Round 1 and falling to the New York Knicks in Round 2. They had to battle through a tough season injury-wise, but there were some good moments for everybody on the roster.

Up next in this series is Quentin Grimes. In his first full season with the Sixers after a long free agency process in the summer of 2025, he was back on the $8.7 million qualifying offer, and had some good moments off the bench as well as a big playoff moment in Round 1 against the Celtics.

For Grimes, here is a review of his 2025-26 season:

Grimes’ season overview

It was a bit of an up-and-down season for Grimes as he started the season off well, but then had some lulls, before then ending the season strong. He averaged 17.2 points in the month of March as he stepped up to produce when the Sixers were hit with a slew of injuries. When Grimes was at his best, he was putting his head down and using his athleticism and physicality to get to the basket and finish. There were plenty of times when coach Nick Nurse wanted him to do so, and when he did that, he was productive.

As far as the playoffs are concerned, his best moment came in Game 5 on the road in Boston. Grimes hopped off the bench and poured in 18 points on 5-for-8 shooting and 4-for-7 from deep while also defending his behind off. Other than that, he wasn’t able to score in double figures in nine of the 11 playoff games as he looked a bit off at times.

Final grade

In his fifth season in the league, Grimes had some good moments on both ends in the regular season and playoffs, but he also had his fair share of lulls. As he moves forward into the offseason, and free agency, the Sixers will likely want to have him return, and if he does, he will need to find more consistency on the floor.

Final grade: B
