Arkansas baseball rose one spot in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll after a 2-1 week that featured a road series victory over Kentucky.
The Razorbacks (36-19) are No. 13 in the latest poll that was released Monday, May 18.
The regular-season schedule for Dave Van Horn’s squad is over after rallying for a winning weekend against the Wildcats. The Hogs dropped the series opener on Thursday before bouncing back on Friday to even the series. Both of the first two games were decided by one run.
The offenses exploded in the rubber match. Arkansas scored 10 runs in the top of the first, but Kentucky responded with nine in the bottom of the fifth. Eventually, the Hogs got across the finish line with a 16-12 win.
UCLA remains the No. 1 team in the country. The rest of the top-five remains unchanged with No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Texas.
There are 10 SEC teams inside the top-25. Joining Texas and Georgia in the top-10 are No. 6 Auburn and No. 9 Texas A&M.
Arkansas already has series victories over No. 14 Mississippi State, No. 15 Alabama and No. 20 Ole Miss with weekend losses to Georgia, Auburn and No. 17 Florida.
The Hogs will be the No. 7 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament. They face the winner between No. 10 Tennessee and No. 15 South Carolina in the second round on Wednesday, May 20.
