The winner of last week’s Softball Player of the Week poll was Bishop Stang’s Olivia Megna. She had more than 4,000 votes (51%) to receive the honor.
Against Dartmouth, Megna, a freshman, was 2-for-2 with a walk and her first home run.
Previous winners were Dartmouth’s Addy Thomas, GNB Voc-Tech’s Leah Perez and Khloe Pereira, New Bedford’s Brylee DeDeus and Old Colony’s Abby Norton.
The winner of the Preseason Softball Player of the Year poll was Old Colony’s Madison Canton with more than 10,000 votes (50%).

Gabby DelVecchio, Apponequet
In a win over New Bedford, DelVecchio had her first career home run and 2 RBIs. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored against Seekonk and 2-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored against Dartmouth. Against Dighton-Rehoboth, DelVecchio was 1-for-2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.
Riley Fiano, Apponequet
Fiano hit her first career home run against Dartmouth and had 3 RBIs.
Reese Taylor, Apponequet
In three games, Taylor struck out a combined 25 batters. She also went a combined 7-for-15 at the plate with 3 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored in four games.
Alaina Chasse, Bishop Stang
Chasse pitched a pair of complete games, allowing a combined 1 earned run while striking out 13. She also went 1-for-3 with 2 RBIS against Arlington Catholic.
Mariaenlena Thomas, Bishop Stang
In a win over Arlington Catholic, Thomas went 3-for-5 with a single, double, triple, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Kasey Pomfret, Dartmouth
Pomfret allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks with 9 strikeouts in a complete-game win over Bishop Stang and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts over 4 innings against GNB Voc-Tech. She also was 1-for-3 with 4 RBIs against the Bears.
Olivia Rapoza, Dartmouth
Rapoza hit a 3-run home run to help Dartmouth rally to beat GNB Voc-Tech.
Kaia Furtado, Fairhaven
Furtado went 3-for-4 with a home run, 2 doubles and 4 RBIs against Seekonk on Senior Day.
Brianna Pierce, Fairhaven
Pierce pitched Fairhaven to a pair of wins over Seekonk and Somerset Berkley, allowing a combined 2 runs on 10 hits and 4 walks with 22 strikeouts. She also had a combined 4 hits, including 3 home runs and 2 RBIs at the plate.
Stella Zangao, Fairhaven
Zangao was 2-for-4 with a home run in a win over Somerset Berkley.
Alexandra DosSantos, GNB Voc-Tech
Against Dartmouth, DosSantos hit her first career home run.
Khloe Pereira, GNB Voc-Tech
Pereira went 3-for-4 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored against Bourne. She also had a hit against West Bridgewater.
Ryleigh Reis, GNB Voc-Tech
Reis threw 5 innings to pick up the win over Bourne, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk with 4 strikeouts for her first varsity shutout for Voc-Tech.
Akiira’Ley Vazquez, GNB Voc-Tech
Vazquez pitched a pair of games against Dartmouth and West Bridgewater, combined for 14 strikeouts. She also went a combined 8-for-12 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored in three games.
Brylee DeDeus, New Bedford
In a win over Sandwich, DeDeus had 1 double, her third home run of the season, 3 runs scored and 4 RBIs.
Natalie DiMatteo, New Bedford
In a win over Brockton, DiMatteo was 4-for-4 with 2 stolen bases, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.
Kiley Gonet, New Bedford
Gonet pitched a 5-inning no hitter with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a win over Brockton. She also pitched 5 scoreless innings against Durfee, allowing 1 hit and 1 walk with 8 strikeouts to clinch the Big 3 title.
Ivy Mattos, New Bedford
In four games, Mattos had a combined 7 hits, including her fifth home run of the season, and 5 runs scored.
Sharon Delancey, Old Colony
In a pair of wins over South Shore and Cape Cod Tech, Delancey struck out a combined 12 batters. She also went a combined 3-for-6 at the plate with 2 RBIs.
Abby Norton, Old Colony
In a pair of wins over South Shore Voc-Tech and Cape Cod Tech, Norton went a combined 7-for-8 with 5 stolen bases, 4 RBis and 4 runs scored.
Laila Servis, Old Colony
In three games, Servis had a combined 4 hits, 5 walks, 7 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
