Vote for the Girls Athlete of the Week for May 11-17

The winner of last week’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Fairhaven’s Briarose Aspden. She had more than 3,000 votes (73%) to receive the honor. 

Aspden had a combined 12 goals and 1 assist in three games.

Previous winners were Old Rochester’s Caroline Houdelette, Fairhaven’s Briarose Aspden, GNB Voc-Tech’s Zoey Chase and Bishop Stang’s A’mya Acevedo. 

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances. 

Here’s your chance to vote for the top high school girls athlete performance from the past week.

GIRLS TRACK

Keltey Fournier, Apponequet

Fournier was fastest in the mile and 2-mile against Dighton-Rehoboth. 

Lucy Olivieri, Apponequet

Against Dighton-Rehoboth, Olivieri won the 100 hurdles and triple jump.

Alexis Read, Apponequet

In a loss to D-R, Read won the 200 and long jump.

Peyton Savageau, Apponequet

Savageau took first in the shot put and discus against D-R. 

GIRLS LACROSSE

Cece Levrault, Apponequet

In three games, Levrault had a combined 21 goals, including 9 against Somerset Berkley.

Riley Lewis, Apponequet

Lewis scored a combined 9 goals in three games. 

Amelia Menendez, Apponequet

Menendez had a combined 17 goals in three games for the Lakers. 

Kerrin Araujo, Bishop Stang

Araujo had a combined 12 goals, 2 assists and 34 draw controls in four games. 

Mena Carbone, Bishop Stang

In four games, Carbone had a combined 11 goals and 4 assists to capture her 100th career points in two seasons. 

Olivia Morgan, Bishop Stang

Morgan had a combined 13 goals and 2 assists in four games. 

Lily Gangi, Dartmouth

In two games, Gangi had a combined 6 goals and 6 assists.

Avery Smith, Dartmouth

Smith had a combined 4 goals, 3 assists and 14 draw controls in two games. 

Briarose Aspden, Fairhaven

In three games, Aspden had a combined 5 goals and 2 assists. 

Madi Lewis, Fairhaven

Lewis had a combined 2 goals and 8 assists in three games to capture the 100th point of her career. 

Lauren Souza, Fairhaven

In three games, Souza had a combined 8 goals. 

Olivia Medeiros, New Bedford

Medeiros had a combined 8 goals and 1 assist in three games. 

Peighton Sousa, New Bedford

Sousa had a team-high 5 goals in a win over Middleboro and added 3 goals in a loss to Apponequet. 

Maddie Caulkins, Old Colony

Caulkins had 5 goals and 1 assist in a win over South Shore Voc-Tech. 

Taylor Cook, Old Rochester

Cook had a combined 11 goals, 3 assists and 13 draw controls in two games.

Liz Kilpatrick, Old Rochester

In two games, Kilpatrick had a combined 8 goals, 2 assists and 16 draw controls. 

GIRLS TENNIS

Emily Pavao, Apponequet

Pavao won her first singles matches against New Bedford and Somerset Berkley. 

Katherine Johnson, Bishop Stang

Johnson won her first singles match against Apponequet. 

Cami Taradash, Dartmouth

Taradash won a pair of first singles matches against Barnstable to clinch the Pioneer Athletic Conference title. 

Mikayla Smith, Fairhaven

Smith won her first singles match against Seekonk.

Caroline Houdelette, Old Rochester

Houdelette won her second singles matches against Bourne, West Bridgewater and East Bridgewater (twice). 

Neva Matos, Old Rochester

Matos won her first singles matches against Bourne, West Bridgewater and East Bridgewater (twice). 

Lan Tran, Wareham

Tran won both of her second singles matches against Mashpee in a double header.
