Barcelona have offered an update on Fermin Lopez after the Spain star underwent surgery on a fractured metatarsal on Tuesday.
The club confirmed that Lopez suffered the injury in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Real Betis that saw him replaced at half-time.
Lopez will now miss Barcelona’s final game of the season and is also out of the World Cup.
Here’s the club’s official statement.
“Fermín has undergone successful surgery for the fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. The procedure was carried out at the Hospital de Barcelona, under the care of Dr. Antoni Dalmau Coll and supervised by the Club’s Medical Services. The recovery time will be determined based on his progress.”
Barcelona haven’t said how much time Lopez will miss but it’s being estimated he will be out for around three months, per Carrusel Deportivo.
Get well soon, Fermin!
