The trio missed Tuesday night’s game against Tottenham, which the Blues won 2-1 as they recorded their first Premier League win at home since January.
Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring with a brilliant strike, before Andrey Santos doubled the lead, but Richarlison pulled one back to set up a nervy finish.
Calum McFarlane provides triple Chelsea injury update
Having played the FA Cup final on Saturday, McFarlane shuffled the pack for the game against Spurs with a number of changes.
Liam Delap was handed a rare start, whilst Colwill and Pedro were absent from the squad completely, and Reece James was on the bench.
Fortunately, Chelsea were able to get the job done without three of their most important players, and McFarlane provided an update post game.
“Yes, so Levi has obviously come off the back of a very serious injury,” he told his post match press conference.
“So it was probably too quick of a turnaround from the cup final. So that one pretty much speaks for itself. So we didn’t want to risk him. We couldn’t afford to risk him tonight, but that would be expected. That would have been the plan from the beginning.
“Reece [James] is the same. We had Reece on the bench tonight, but again, coming off the back of an injury, the turnaround from the City game, the type of game that the City game was, we didn’t really want to risk him in that moment.
“Joao Pedro had a slight knock, nothing that we’re massively concerned about. But again, with the quick turnaround from City, it just wasn’t worth risking Joao Pedro in that moment.
When asked about returning against Sunderland McFarlane said:
“It’s definitely a wait and see. We’ve got a little bit of time from now until then. So we’re hopeful, but we won’t know that until the next couple of days, see how the next couple of days unfold.”
