Adan Diggs shakes up basketball recruiting, reclassifies to 2027 class

On the surface, the 2027 high school basketball recruiting class appears to be one of the deepest and best in recent memory. That class got even better on Tuesday night.

Goodyear (AZ) Millennium five-star combo guard Adan Diggs was regarded by many as the top overall prospect in the 2028 class. Now he’ll get the chance to be one of the best in the 2027 class after reclassifying.

247Sports ranks the 6-foot-5, 180-pounder as the new No. 4 overall prospect in the class as well as the No. 1 combo guard and No. 1 player out of Arizona.

Diggs was dominant during a standout sophomore season. He led the Tigers to a 24-4 record, averaging 22.5 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game, earning MaxPreps National Sophomore Player of the Year honors.

Playing with Vegas Elite on the Nike 17u EYBL Circuit, Diggs is averaging 19.6 points, six rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals.

Diggs’ decision makes him the latest elite basketball prospect to move up a class. Others include AJ Dybantsa, Cooper Flagg, Bruce Branch III and others.

While he has yet to make a college decision, Diggs won’t have any shortage of options. He’s taken unofficial visits to Arizona, UCLA, and USC and holds offers from over 20 programs, including Alabama, BYU, Kentucky, LSU, Texas, and others.
