Joe Burrow calls 2026 Bengals the ‘most talented roster that we’ve had’

For all his excellence, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is still searching for his first Super Bowl title. In some seasons, his own injuries have disrupted the team’s chances. But when he’s stayed healthy, he’s been let down by his supporting cast.

Burrow doesn’t see the latter as a valid excuse this season, however, as he revealed he thinks the 2026 Bengals are “the most talented roster that we’ve had since I’ve been here.”

That’s quite the statement, especially considering the 2021 Bengals appeared in the Super Bowl and the 2022 Bengals advanced to the AFC Championship.

It also might come as a surprise considering the 2026 Bengals will be dealing with at least one massive loss. Pass rusher Trey Hendrickson left the team in the offseason, instead opting to join the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. The move came after Hendrickson and the Bengals failed to agree on a long-term extension last season.

Burrow said he wasn’t surprised by Hendrickson’s decision to sign with the Bengals’ biggest rival this offseason, saying that’s just “how [Hendrickson] operates.”

The team, however, didn’t sit by idly as Hendrickson walked. It instead made one of the boldest moves of the offseason, trading for New York Giants pass rusher Dexter Lawrence.

Whether Lawrence and company can help push the team forward remains to be seen. While Burrow feels good about the entire team, that might not matter. If Burrow can remain healthy, he’s good enough to singlehandedly lift a club to a Super Bowl title.

It would, of course, be easier if he had some help from his teammates along the way.
