The Chargers‘ full schedule was released last week and there’s much excitement surrounding the team’s 2026 slate of games.
The Bolts will have three prime-time games this season, but fans will have to wait until the second half of the season to witness those matchups.
The Chargers are looking to earn their first playoff win in the Jim Harbaugh era after finishing the 2025 campaign with 11 wins and reaching the AFC Wild Card round. They fell short to the Patriots, the eventual AFC representative in the Super Bowl.
The pressure is on for the Chargers in 2026, and their strength of schedule is doing them no favors, as the team has the ninth-toughest schedule in the league.
- Denver Broncos
- The Broncos enter the 2026 season as arguably the best team in the NFL with quarterback Bo Nix, head coach Sean Payton and their elite defense. Moreover, the Chargers will face their division rival twice throughout 2026.
- Seattle Seahawks
- The Super Bowl champions should also be one of the Bolts’ toughest matchups in 2026. Their roster is one of the most complete in the league and Seattle has very few weaknesses across the board. The Chargers will also take on the Seahawks at Lumen Field.
- Los Angeles Rams
- The NFC West is no joke and the Rams will present quite the challenge for the Chargers. Matthew Stafford is coming off an MVP season with head coach Sean McVay at the helm. The Rams also retooled its secondary, which should make things more difficult for Justin Herbert.
- Buffalo Bills
- The Bills will always be a strong opponent with Josh Allen at the helm and its deep roster.
- Baltimore Ravens
- The Chargers will face old friend Jesse Minter in his first year as a head coach of the Ravens. He inherits a two-time MVP quarterback in Lamar Jackson and an elite pass rush. It should be exciting to see how Minter stacks up against Mike McDaniel.
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Patrick Mahomes is expected to be healthy in 2026 and the Chargers have notoriously struggled against the division rival for much of the last decade. This season will be a true litmus test of the Chargers’ intentions to contend.
- San Francisco 49ers
- Harbaugh and McDaniel will face their former team, the 49ers. If San Francisco is healthy, the squad should be lethal with its key pieces like Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Nick Bosa and Fred Warner.
- Houston Texans
- The Texans have established themselves as having one of the best defenses in the league. Houston proved just that down the stretch last season.
- New England Patriots
- The defending AFC champions should be a challenge for the Chargers as they’re still projected to be a top team in the league. The Bolts can find redemption with a win over the Patriots.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- The Buccaneers still have a pretty high-level offense, but the Chargers should win this matchup.
- Las Vegas Raiders
- The Raiders are a division opponent, which is always tough, but still have some major question marks surrounding the team, even with the addition of franchise quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
- New York Jets
- The Chargers should win this game with no problem, as LA’s roster is stronger by leaps and bounds talent-wise. However, the Jets had a strong draft and are young.
- Arizona Cardinals
- There are too many questions on both sides of the ball for Arizona. The Chargers should take advantage of facing a weak quarterback in Jacoby Brissett. The Cardinals are in full rebuild mode, so the Bolts must capitalize on that.
- Miami Dolphins
- Simply put, the Dolphins are also in rebuild mode with their new regime. McDaniel should easily get the win against his former team.
