Karlsruhe SC has officially announced it’s new head coach in Maximilian Senft who is joining from Austrian first division club SV Ried.
The Vienna nativ had been under contract with SV Ried since 2022, coaching the reserve team and eventually earning his UEFA Pro License.
Senft took over the first team in March 2023 and led them the title and subsequent promotion to the topflight in 2024-25.
In the current season, the 36-year-old is still fighting for qualification for the Conference League in the playoff with Rapid Wien.
“At the start of our coaching search, we developed a clear profile. We consistently adhered to this profile and held several in-depth discussions.
“With Maximilian Senft, we have secured a coach who is an excellent fit for Karlsruher SC in terms of his sporting ability, his personality, and his working style.
“He embodies our overall footballing strategy because he combines modern training methods, clear development, and proactive football.
“Max led SV Ried to promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga, subsequently established the club in the league, and, together with his coaching team, developed something sustainable.
“He has demonstrated that he can not only generate short-term success but also stabilize it through daily work,” said managing director of sport, Mario Eggimann.
