NASCAR legend Kyle Busch died unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, the company shared on X.
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.

His death came as a shock to all and a dagger in the hearts of NASCAR fans.
Circumstances of his death have not been revealed in full, but news circulated early Thursday morning that the driver would not be participating in this weekend’s race after being hospitalized with an illness.
“Kyle has experienced a severe illness resulting in hospitalization,” the Busch family said in a statement. “He is currently undergoing treatment and will not compete in any of his scheduled activities this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. We ask for understanding and privacy as our family navigates this situation.”
NBC News and The Associated Press categorized the illness as “a sinus cold that was exacerbated by the intense G-forces and elevation changes at the New York road course.”
Busch’s impact on the sport of motor racing can not be understated. Busch won 234 races, more than any driver in history. He holds all-time records for NASCAR Trucks and O’Reilly Auto Parts wins.
It is not hyperbole to say that NASCAR will never be the same.
Busch leaves behind his wife and two young children.
