New York Giants defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Thursday’s OTA practice, reports Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
The injury represents a significant blow to an already thin defensive tackle group.
Giants DL Roy Robertson-Harris tore his Achilles during yesterday’s practice, per sources. That’s a blow to an already thin unit. The 10th-year veteran started all 17 games last season in the first year of a two-year, $9 million contract.

The 10th-year veteran started all 17 games in 2025 during the first season of his two-year, $9 million contract with the Giants, recording 35 tackles and one pass defensed. He had been expected to compete for a rotational role in 2026 after the team traded star Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals in the offseason.
New York backfilled the position with veteran additions D.J. Reader and Shelby Harris, while looking to younger players like Darius Alexander and rookie Bobby Jamison-Travis to step up.
Robertson-Harris becomes the second Giant to suffer a torn Achilles in the past week, joining undrafted rookie cornerback Thaddeus Dixon.
The Giants appear snakebit at the defensive tackle spot heading into the new season under head coach John Harbaugh. Recovery from a torn Achilles typically sidelines players for 9-12 months, casting doubt on Robertson-Harris’s availability for 2026.
