Chelsea manager Calum McFarlane is doing his press conference right now previewing the game against Sunderland on Sunday. As always, team news was the top of the agenda. Levi Colwill recently returned from a long term injury and was rested when we faced Tottenham on Tuesday. Meanwhile Joao Pedro had a slight knock and was also left out.
McFarlane had an update on both.
Calum McFarlane on missing players from Tuesday
“They both trained today. Both promising and we’re hopeful they’ll be fit for Sunday. No other updates,” the interim coach said to the assembled media.
Short and sweet. The Calum McFarlane experience in a nutshell.
It sounds like both will be ready, and we’d also expect Reece James to return to the team after taking a break on Tuesday. That puts us at nearly full strength for the game. There is only really pride (and a Europa Conference League place) to play for but given how little pride we’ve had in this team this year, that’s not nothing.
In other news…
Enzo Fernandez could be on his way out at Chelsea despite the arrival of Xabi Alonso, with Real Madrid keen to sign him.
Xabi Alonso has been given a new title above what some of his predecessors had, as part of the campaign to secure him as our new boss.
