The Oregon Ducks have already won the race within the race for four-star athlete Bode Sparrow, who cut his recruitment down to four schools on Friday.
Sparrow, the No. 59 overall player and top-ranked player from Utah in the 2027 class, per Rivals, will commit to either Oregon, Oklahoma, Utah or BYU. The Ducks were the last team to schedule an official visit for Sparrow, beating out Miami and Texas A&M for the last spot.
The Ducks will get Sparrow on campus on June 5. Sparrow is the No. 2 athlete in the class, but the Ducks like him at safety. The 6-foot-2 star from Kaysville, Utah, will take his first official visit to Oklahoma on May 29 before coming to Eugene. After that, he will stay close to home, taking visits to Utah on June 12 and BYU on June 19.

Right now, the Ducks are facing an uphill battle to win Sparrow’s recruitment, but the fact that they secured the final official visit is a big deal. However, Rivals recruiting expert Adam Gorney has placed a prediction for Sparrow to land with Oklahoma.
While he is a dynamic receiver, Sparrow projects best in the secondary as a quick and rangy safety. He snagged a combined 16 interceptions through his sophomore and junior seasons. He has the frame and ability to come downhill and play in the box as an enforcer and solid tackler, which is how Oregon defensive coordinator Chris Hampton has liked to use his safeties in the past. Dillon Thieneman thrived in the role last year, and Koi Perich is expected to step up again this season.
Oregon currently holds the No. 10 class in the nation, per Rivals, and would like to boost its secondary in the class after a recent flip. The Ducks have one safety currently committed with four-star Semaj Stanford, the No. 5 safety in the 2027 class. Sparrow would be another welcome addition to Oregon’s class, but they will have to impress during his upcoming visit.
