Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
What does Cooper DeJean’s situational move to safety mean for the Eagles’ secondary? – PhillyVoice
3) The other starting safety spot in nickel is up for grabs, but Epps has the inside track. “It’s open,” Fangio said. “I think Marcus is someone that will put a good claim to it… “When we go to nickel and Coop comes up and plays nickel, it’ll be Epps. We’re taking a good look at Michael Carter back there. Andre Sam. Then we signed an undrafted free agent, Gush [DB Kapena Gushiken]. J.T. Gray has been mainly a special teams player, but he’ll get a look. We’ll look at all those guys. It’s an open competition.” Fangio also spoke a little more at length about Epps’ play in 2025. “I was pleasantly surprised,” he said. “Maybe surprised is the wrong word because I just really didn’t know him. But when he had to play last year, he came in and showed his experience, showed his instincts that he has for the game. I was pleased with the way he played last year. I wasn’t considering him an old player at this point, but he’s obviously a veteran. I think he’ll do fine. I’m not sure what his injury history has been, but I think if he stays injury-free and if he wins the job, we’ll be fine.” Carter, normally a slot corner, played a little safety for the Eagles in 2025.
Giants are having a no good, very bad week – BGN
The Giants OTAs are underway, but things aren’t smooth sailing for the NFC East team, who learned veteran DL Roy Robertson-Harris will now miss the 2026 season, Malik Nabers won’t be back anytime soon, and they’re stuck with their GM for the foreseeable future.
Rams ‘no longer in mix’ for A.J. Brown trade – Turf Show Times
The Los Angeles Rams are not attempting to trade for Eagles receiver A.J. Brown right now, a week before he is likely to be traded by Philadelphia to the highest bidder. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Friday evening, the Rams were the second-most likely team to trade for Brown behind only the New England Patriots, but they are “no longer in the mix” as of this week. Anything could change until A.J. Brown is actually traded by the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots or any other team, but one of the top NFL Insiders is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams are out of the running.
Why Cowboys should monitor A.J. Brown situation, other potential post-June 1 moves – Blogging The Boys
June 1 is the next important date on the NFL calendar. Teams around the league will have this date circled as it allows for players to be cut or traded with their dead money being spread out between the 2026 and 2027 seasons instead of eating the full cost. This salary-cap saving tool could be utilized for several organizations looking to become more financially flexible. One such organization is the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s the worst kept secret the league Philadelphia plans on trading their All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown post-June 1. By doing so the Eagles can save quite a bit of money as well as acquire what should be some significant draft capital for the future. This move, among others, should be something the Dallas Cowboys monitor closely.
Trey Amos among Commanders’ 2025 NFL draft picks to impact 2026 season – Hogs Haven
Adam Peters selected five players in the 2025 NFL draft. Commanders selections were lower in each round as a byproduct of the previous season’s trip to the NFC championship game. Washington’s general manager came away with quality despite that fact, adding players capable of making an instant impact. That happened well beyond No. 29 overall pick Josh Conerly Jr., an offensive tackle out of Oregon. The Commanders got 511 defensive snaps and eight starts from second-round cornerback Trey Amos before a broken fibula cut his rookie season short.
Survey results: NY Giants fans can’t wait for the Dallas Cowboys – Big Blue View
The New York Giants 2026 schedule has been out for a week at this point. It isn’t quite as daunting as their 2025 schedule was, but it has multiple highlights throughout the 18 weeks. Now that we’ve all had a chance to digest the schedule as well as start to get a feel for how the team is coming together under John Harbaugh, we wanted to know which game Giants fans have circled this year.
NFL’s international games are here to stay, says Osi Umenyiora – SB Nation
Before you know it there is going to be one every week. Things certainly feel this way for the NFL and its international games. This year there are nine total games taking place outside of the United States, one every week from the season’s beginning through Week 11, save for Weeks 2 and 8. About 20 years ago the thought of the NFL reaching this place felt pretty impossible. There was the occasional NFL international game, but that was it. It feels like the league is barreling towards a future where there is going to be one of these every week. Traditionally speaking, NFL Sundays begin at 1pm ET and run all the way into the night after the evening game. It would seem that the league has identified that early window as an opportunity to stage a game somewhere across the globe where the time difference allows for it to take place in the window in question.
