Three-star defensive line recruit Waylon Wooten is ready to announce his commitment. The elite class of 2027 defender will decide among the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Purdue Boilermakers and Florida Gators.
Georgia football is predicted to land a commitment from the big in-state defensive lineman. Wooten is scheduled to announce his commitment on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET. He’s commitment will be live on CBS Sports.
Wooten plays high school football for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Wooten is ranked as the No. 92 defensive lineman prospect in his recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound defender is the No. 97 recruit in Georgia.
Georgia offered Wooten in Aug. 2024. The Grayson star plays against a strong level of high school competition. In 2025, Grayson advanced the quarterfinals of 6A playoffs in Georgia before falling to state finalist Carrollton. Wooten has scholarship offers from elite college football programs like Ohio State, Florida, LSU and more.
Wooten visited all of his top four schools this spring. The Grayson standout would be a key addition for coach Kirby Smart and Georgia. The Bulldogs are still looking for their first commitment along the defensive line.
