It’s safe to say that reigning two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeus-Alexander isn’t bothered by the “flopper” chants that rained down on him from San Antonio Spurs fans during Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Friday night.

The chants were loud and direct, but they didn’t necessarily have the desired impact as Gilgeous-Alexander still finished the game with 26 points and 12 assists, and the Thunder pulled out a 123-108 win to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

After the game, Gilgeous-Alexander was asked about the chants, and he basically brushed them off, saying that they have no impact on him one way or another.

“It does nothing. Doesn’t fuel me, doesn’t discourage me,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “It’s part of the game. I’ve been dealing with it a long time. I don’t really hear it.”

Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t the first superstar player to have chants directed at him by an opposing fanbase, and he certainly won’t be the last.

Plus, the chants clearly didn’t impact Gilgeous-Alexander’s on-court approach. He still got to the free throw line frequently, and he converted all 12 of his attempts from the line in Game 3. Perhaps Spurs fans will want to come up with a new chant for Game 4.
