In early May, the Washington Huskies entered the race for one of the nation’s best running backs in the 2028 class, four-star Sean Simon.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound product of La Porte High School in Texas is ranked as the nation’s No. 62 overall prospect and No. 5 running back by the 247Sports Composite after an extremely productive sophomore season, where he amassed 2,191 yards and 25 touchdowns on 253 attempts, good for an impressive 8.66 yards per carry.
That production has helped Simon pull in 16 offers, with Florida, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin all among the programs showing interest in his services. On film, the talented ball carrier who goes by the nickname “F-150, backs up that billing.

Simon displays good vision and patience, consistently following his blocks to get to the edge before finding another gear to burst through the line and get into the open field. With a build similar to former UW star Jonah Coleman, he also displays impressive contact balance, just like the fourth-round pick of the Denver Broncos in April’s draft.
With signing day for the 2028 class still a long way off, the plan for the position could change, but Jedd Fisch and running backs coach Scottie Graham have amassed a promising unit. By that point, freshmen Brian Bonner and Ansu Sanoe would be in their third seasons and most likely leading the room, while four-star commit Jeremy Adeyanju would be a sophomore.
Washington holds one pledge at running back in the 2027 class in Adeyanju, so Graham may wind up turning his attention towards Simon and the six other backs in the 2028 class who have received offers from UW.
