Here are the nominees:
Nehemiah Kiser, Male track and field
Sophomore won the 800-meter run in 1 minute, 51.72 seconds at the KHSAA Class 3A State Championships on May 23 at the University of Kentucky, helping the Bulldogs win the team title. Kiser also was a member of the victorious 4×400 relay team.
Earnest Perry, DuBois track and field
Junior won the 100-meter dash in 11.05 seconds at the KHSAA Class A State Championships on May 21 at UK, becoming the first state champion in DuBois history.
Armen Smalley, Spencer County track and field
Senior won the long jump and triple jump at the KHSAA Class 2A State Championships on May 22 at UK.
Colin Teeley, Trinity lacrosse
Senior scored with one second left to give the Shamrocks a 9-8 victory over St. Xavier on May 20 in the KHSAA state championship match at Great Crossing.
Colton Zuege, St. Xavier baseball
Senior tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 over seven innings in a 7-0 victory over Christian Academy on May 20 in a quarterfinal of the Seventh Region Tournament.
