Is a trade for A.J. Brown a move that the Las Vegas Raiders need to pursue? Brown is likely to be traded on or after June 1, with the New England Patriots being the leading candidate to land his services, but the Raiders have a glaring vacancy at wide receiver that calls for attention.
According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Raiders have every reason to push their chips to the front of the table to trade for Brown.
”Dealing a 2028 pick for Brown would maintain Las Vegas’ options in 2027 while giving Mendoza a No. 1 perimeter target for the early stages of his career.”
Brown is expected to be traded for a future draft pick. The Raiders are still likely to yield a high draft pick in 2028, even with Brown in Las Vegas to improve their winning trajectory over the next two seasons.
By the 2028 season, Brown will be 30 years old. He has yet to show regression, having went for 1,000-yards receiving for the sixth time in his career in 2025. The Mississippi native will be a delight for Raiders rookie QB Fernando Mendoza to look to in the passing game, along with another proven 1,000-yard receiver in tight end Brock Bowers.
Dealing a future 2028 first-round pick comes with its highs and lows, but ultimately, acquiring Brown will have a profound impact on the team.
