VOTE for HSS North Jersey Softball Player of the Week for May 18-24

After an exciting finish to the high school softball regular season, it’s time to look back on the best performances.

Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the HSS North Jersey Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Brianna Depalo, Cresskill

The Cougars clinched a piece of a division title for the first time since 1986 last week, and the freshman third baseman scored six runs in two games, going 7-9 at the plate with nine RBIs.

Lily Kriz, Ramsey

The Rams catcher went 3-3 at the plate, slugged a double, scored two runs and also reached on an error in Ramsey’s 8-2 win over IHA in the Bergen County Tournament final.

Eliz Kucukarslan, Ridgewood

The Maroons won the BIT title Friday, with Kucukarslan going 3-4 with an RBI in the final. In three games last week, she went 5-10, with four runs scored.

Paityn Salvaggio, Bergenfield

One of North Jersey’s underrated stars, Showfey helped the Cutters to three dominating wins last week, going 6-11 at the plate, scoring an incredible seven runs and hitting four triples.

Maya Showfety, Fair Lawn

The Bears clinched a winning season with two wins last week, including a dramatic victory over Teaneck. Salvaggio led the way going 3-7 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Alexandra Siller, Pascack Valley

The Panthers won a pair of games last week with Siller pitching nine innings and not allowing a run while striking out 12. At the plate, she had three hits and four RBIs in six at-bats.
