Vote for Week 9 Delaware HS Athlete of the Week, presented by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists

Help decide which performance was the best in Delaware high school sports during Week 9 of the spring sports season. Vote for the Delaware Online High School Sports Athlete of the Week, presented by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists.

Nominations for Athlete of the Week and Team of the Week can be sent to high school sports reporter Brandon Holveck at bholveck@delawareonline.com. Please send the name of the team or athlete you would like to nominate and a brief summary of their accomplishments in the past week.

Polls are open to the public with unlimited voting from Monday through Thursday. Winners are announced Friday. Here are this week’s nominees:

Alex Jankiewicz, Salesianum boys volleyball: Jankiewicz helped lead Salesianum to a 3-2 win over Cape Henlopen in the boys volleyball state championship game.

Claudia Koch, Archmere girls lacrosse: Koch scored four goals in Archmere’s 10-7 quarterfinal win over Tatnall.

Mikey Sebastian, Smyrna boys lacrosse: Sebastian scored three goals and had an assist in Smyrna’s 7-5 quarterfinal win over Wilmington Friends.

Kylie VanHorn, Polytech softball: VanHorn had four hits in Polytech’s 10-0 second-round win over Delaware Military Academy.

Makayla Wilkins, Odessa girls track and field: Wilkins ran on the winning girls 4×200 in Division I at the state meet and placed fifth in the girls 100 at the Meet of Champions.
