Fort Collins native is top American woman runner at Bolder Boulder

Rachael Rudel is having an impressive spring in elite races.

The Fort Collins native and former Colorado State runner was the top American woman in the 2026 Bolder Boulder 10K on May 25.

Rudel had a big late surge to finish third overall in a time of 32 minutes, 46 seconds in the women’s international pro race. She finished 10 seconds behind second-place Jesca Chelangat and 13 behind winner Rebecca Mwangi (both of Kenya).

Rudel won the 2026 Horsetooth Half Marathon in April, finishing in a record time of 1 hour, 12 minutes and 29 seconds.

Patrick Kiptoo Kiprop of Kenya won the men’s Bolder Boulder pro race in a time of 28:35.
