Bayern Munich had been rumored to have interest in FC Köln attacker Said El Mala, who just missed on being selected for the German national team’s entry for the World Cup in North America.
However, the interest is said to have waned, which has opened to the door for clubs like Brentford to submit a hefty offer for the 19-year-old. As such, the Premier League club put together a tempting proposal for the Billy Goats to consider, per Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg:
🚨🆕 Brentford have submitted an offer worth €45m (€40m fixed + €5m add-ons) to 1. FC Köln for Said El Mala.
Köln have not responded yet. They still want at least €50m, after @AxelHesse1. Confirmed. #Effzeh
El Mala has not yet agreed terms with Brentford. The player first wants the clubs to negotiate. @SkySportDE
It is interesting that El Mala does not want to talk personal terms until after the two clubs reach an accord. There have been rumors that El Mala would like to make it a package deal with his brother, Malek, but it is unclear if that is what his official stance will be.
Stay tuned…
