Steelers rookie named team’s most exciting 2026 UDFA

The Pittsburgh Steelers are no strangers to signing some of the greatest undrafted free agents in NFL history, especially when looking at legends like Donnie Shell or James Harrison.

While the most recent example of an undrafted success story in Pittsburgh is without a doubt Jaylen Warren, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport believes there’s a new Steelers UDFA to keep an eye on in 2026: DT Kevin Jobity Jr.

“A 6’4″, 304-pound defensive tackle who is unpolished but has a high motor, Jobity had the best season of his collegiate career in 2025, logging 30 tackles and five sacks at Syracuse,” Davenport wrote about the Steelers’ most exciting undrafted free agent. “…Jobity’s athleticism and versatility are going to make him a player to watch this summer. And Rubio is going to have his hands full seeing off Jobity for a roster spot.”

Jobity, who played for Syracuse University from 2022 to 2025, recorded 10 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, and 84 combined tackles in his collegiate career.

Unfortunately for Jobity, the Steelers’ 2026 defensive line is loaded with talent, and he may face an uphill battle to earn his spot on the initial 53-man roster. But Jobity will have a legitimate shot if he can potentially outperform sixth-round rookie Gabriel Rubio.
