Miami Dolphins’ De’Von Achane: Injury update

MIAMI GARDENS ― Miami Dolphins star running back De’Von Achane had offseason shoulder surgery, coach Jeff Hafley said on Wednesday, May 27.

Achane has been present but not participating in organized team activity practices.

“He is recovering,” Hafley said. “He got his shoulder cleaned up and is rehabbing and is doing well. He’lll do some drills and run around.”

Achane has said he has been rehabilitating.

Achane, 24, recently agreed to a 4-year, $68 million extension.

Achane was the Dolphins’ only Pro Bowler last season.

Achane had 1,350 rushing yards and 488 receiving yards. The Dolphins plan to run even more under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley.

Achane was a third-round pick out of Texas A&M. Even though he’s only 5-foot-9, 191 pounds, Achane is strong and tough and unafraid to run inside or take big hits.

Some have compared Achane to former NFL star Warrick Dunn.

Achane is one of the fastest and most electric offensive weapons in the NFL.
