Vote now in new poll for The Bulletin athlete of the week

The Plainfield duo of sophomore Riley Lewis and junior Mason Tavernier have been selected The Bulletin’s co-athletes of the week for May 11-16.

Lewis, the Panthers sophomore second baseman, had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs to help Plainfield top Griswold, 15-8, in girls softball.

Tavernier, the Panthers junior pitcher, allowed just one earned run and struck out eight in a complete game performance in Plainfield’s 8-1 non-league baseball win against Wilbur Cross in New Haven. Tavernier also had a triple and scored two runs.

Last week saw plenty of standout performances in baseball, softball, boys outdoor track and field, girls outdoor track and field, girls golf, and girls lacrosse across Eastern Connecticut. While there’s no shortage of talent, we went and found the best of the best.
