FSU in top three for safety target in Georgia

2027 three-star safety Kamarion Johnson is still looking for his collegiate home, and his official visit schedule for the summer is set to begin.

He’ll visit the Florida Gators on June 4 to kick things off. Florida State will host Johnson on June 12, and then he’ll visit the Cincinnati Bearcats on June 19. These three programs are also the top three schools for Johnson, which he announced on social media.

The Seminoles didn’t offer Johnson a scholarship until April 11, when he took his first trip to Tallahassee. With around 15 offers on the table, it’s impressive that FSU has been able to make this much noise in Johnson’s recruitment so fast.

As a junior at Clinch County High School last season, Johnson was a productive player in several areas. He racked up 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, and five interceptions as a safety. Johnson produced 38 receptions for 828 yards and 11 scores as a wide receiver. Lastly, he excelled on special teams with two punt return touchdowns and one kickoff return for a score.

Johnson is the No. 438 player nationally and the No. 39 safety per 247Sports composite rankings. He’s ranked as the No. 45 prospect in the state of Georgia, also.

The goal for FSU in recruiting Johnson is to add more safety talent in the 2027 cycle, with four-star Mekhi Williams and three-star Jemari Foreman already in the fold.
