FC Porto will not trigger the buy option included in Terem Moffi’s (27) loan move from OGC Nice and so the Nigerian will return to his parent club, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Moffi was put on sick leave back in November following an attack on Nice’s team bus by their own fans. He, like Jérémie Boga, who was also targeted by fans following an away defeat to FC Lorient, looked for a way out of the club, and so he joined Porto back in January; Boga, meanwhile, joined Juventus, where he is expected to remain.
In Moffi’s loan, an €8m buy option was included. However, it won’t be triggered. In 15 games, he scored just twice. He therefore returns to Nice, where he has just one year remaining on his contract. He won’t remain with Le Gym, however. The Ligue 1 side will look to find a new club for the Nigeria international.
