Four positions are a priority for Barcelona this summer – centre-forward, left-wing, centre-back and full-back.
Over the past 48 hours, the Catalans have made tremendous progress in terms of securing mega signings for the first two positions in Julian Alvarez and Anthony Gordon.
The defensive signings, however, are yet to be accelerated and the club are still in the early stages of identifying the right targets to go after.
Matteo Moretto on Radio MARCA brings to light one player whom Barcelona see as an option for the full-back position.
Marc Cucurella on Barcelona’s agenda
Indeed, as reported by the journalist, the player Barcelona are eyeing as a possible left-back signing is none other than Chelsea mainstay Marc Cucurella.

The Spanish left-back has grown leaps and bounds since leaving La Masia and has become a mainstay for both club and country through the merit of his performances.
He is, however, looking to leave Chelsea after the team’s poor campaign and Barcelona are one of the clubs linked with him.
While the player’s roots do indeed link him back to Barcelona, the decision is far more complicated especially given the other clubs in the race for him.
After all, Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City and Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are also seriously pursuing his signing.
A dilemma for Barcelona
For years, Alejandro Balde has been hailed as the next big left-back in world football by the Barcelona faithful.

However, he remains as frustrating as ever on the field and does not seem to have developed nearly as much as the club would have liked.
Joao Cancelo’s arrival infused life into Barcelona’s left-back position and the Portuguese veteran comfortably displaced Balde from Flick’s dynamics. Needless to say, the club are working hard to make his signing permanent as well.
At this point, a big part of the decision over Cucurella depends on Balde’s continuity at the club and Cancelo’s potential move permanently. Should either one of the players leave Barcelona, Cucurella’s name may gain weight as a priority option.
