Ole Miss baseball vs Arizona State in weather delay before start of NCAA Tournament

LINCOLN, NE — Ole Miss baseball will have to wait a little longer to begin play in the NCAA Tournament at Haymarket Park.

The Rebels (36-21) are the No. 2 seed in the Lincoln Regional of the NCAA Tournament. Ole Miss will face No. 3 Arizona State (37-19) out of the Big 12 in the second game of the regional on May 29 (ESPN2)

The game was supposed to start at 8 p.m., but the NCAA announced a weather delay at 6:45 p.m. A new time for first pitch has not been set. The tarp is covering the field due to rain.

Hunter Elliott (5-3, 5.07 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Rebels against ASU is starter Cole Carlon (5-2, 3.51 ERA).

The winner of the game will face No. 1 Nebraska on May 30 at 7 p.m. The loser will face No. 4 South Dakota State in an elimination game on May 30 at 2 p.m. TV information for those games has not been announced.
