It has been a while since we’ve offered any book recommendations, as life has gotten the better of our free time lately.
But we did have a chance to finish Rich Podolosky’s Madden & Summerall: How They Revolutionized NFL Broadcasting not too long ago, so it is time to give it a shoutout.
Similar to his previous work, You Are Looking Live! about the rise of The NFL Today program, Podolosky takes his readers on a thorough and linear line through the history of the broadcast team of Summerall and Madden, from their beginnings at CBS, through their time at Fox, and eventually the passing of both legendary broadcasters.
Those old enough to remember knew that when Summerall and Madden were on a broadcast, it was a big deal, and this will bring back those memories. Anyone who has never heard them call a game will still enjoy the stories of how an unlikely duo became the game’s best broadcasters.
Check it out when you have a chance. And, as always, drop any book recommendations in the comments!

- Brendan Sorsby, Myles Garrett trade are Browns “easy” options to find QB of Future (Jared Mueller) – The never-ending search for a franchise QB by the Cleveland Browns could end with Brendan Sorsby or a Myles Garrett trade.
- Browns Myles Garrett trade proposal: Acceptable if “Franchise QB” guaranteed? (Abby Mueller) – Myles Garrett trade rumors could heat up as June 1st looms. Would Cleveland Browns fans deal him for certainty at QB?
The Feed
This is an interesting one, as we tend to take the side of “if they are wearing a Cleveland uniform, then we’re on board with them.” Unless they are Johnny Manziel or Odell Beckham Jr.
Cleveland Browns
- The Browns are building a receiver room with a little variety and that should help Jerry Jeudy (cleveland.com) – If there’s anyone ready to turn the page to 2026, it’s Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who spoke to the media following Wednesday’s OTA practice.
- USA TODAY GOAT list missing Browns greats Myles Garrett and Joe Thomas (Beacon Journal) – “Best of all time” lists tend to be annoying because they will always leave someone who deserves mention off.
- New Browns Rumors on Who Has ‘Leg Up’ in Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson QB1 Battle (Bleacher Report) – ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler feels Deshaun Watson has the “leg up” over Shedeur Sanders in the race to be named QB1 for the Cleveland Browns this offseason.
NFL
- Bengals, Burrow know they have ability to be ‘more explosive’ (ESPN) – Health and defense. Those are typically the two most important factors that will determine the Cincinnati Bengals’ success — with 2026 potentially being a make-or-break season for the franchise.
- How the Falcons are adjusting under legendary O-line coach Bill Callahan (The Athletic) – When Kevin Stefanski was named the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, it was an easy call to reach out to Bill Callahan. It was an even easier “yes” for Callahan, the veteran offensive-line coach who is now working for his eighth NFL team and beginning his second turn as a Stefanski assistant.
- Texans QB C.J. Stroud on looming contract extension entering 2026: ‘I think I’ve held my bargain up’ (NFL.com) – C.J. Stroud’s once stratospheric potential has fallen back closer toward earth over the last two seasons, a reality reflected in his current contract situation.
