Ireland sealed a seven-wicket win against Pakistan on the second day of the Tri-Nation series at Clontarf Cricket Club.

After losing to the West Indies on Thursday by eight wickets, Ireland responded well and chased down 177 with five balls to spare in Dublin.

Pakistan, who elected to bat first, started strongly with Muneeba Ali’s 65 from 41 balls the top score.

Ava Canning claimed the wickets of Saira Jabeen and Gull Feroza, while Alana Dalzell dismissed Muneeba.

The away side batted their full 20 overs and finished 176, with the home side quickly closing down on their tally when Hunter made 56 off 43 balls and Rebecca Stokell added 60 with Ireland’s top score of the match.

Captain Orla Prendergast made an impressive 33 off 17 balls before falling lbw to Ayesha Naseem, but Leah Paul was able to send the side over the target and seal the win.

The home side return to action in Clontarf on Monday (16:00 BST) against the West Indies, who are unbeaten in the tournament so far.
