Division 5 State Championships: Quabbin’s Owura Ankoma-Mensah was second in both the 100 (11.11) and the 200 (22.20) and Jinxi Zou was third in the 110 hurdles (15.19) as the Panthers took fourth with 43.5 points at Bridgewater State University.
Quabbin’s Owen Twarog was eighth in the pole vault (11-0), Sadiki Francis was fourth in the triple jump (43-7), Wesley Sanderson was ninth in the javelin (138-5) and Collin Lindley was 10th in the 400 (51.30).
The Panthers also took second in the 400 relay, with the team of Zou, Ankoma-Mensah, Zakk Mielnicki and Blake Parmenter finishing in 43.91. Quabbin took sixth in the 3,200 relay, as the team of Jacob Bassett, Brent Benoit, Brendan Welch and Lindley finished in 8:29.30.
Weston won the team title with 101.5 points.
Oakmont’s Jayden Brostrom won the 800 (1:57.57) and was second in the mile (4:26.07), while Jackson Traylor was fifth in the 400 (50.89) and eighth in the 100 (12.12) as the Spartans placed fifth with 42.5 points. Oakmont’s Cameron Scerbo was fifth in the pole vault (11-6) and Adam McDermott took seventh in the 110 hurdles (16.69),
Nipmuc’s Eben Consigli (158-11) won the discus title, besting second-place teammate Dash Correia (134-9), while Correia took third in the shot put (49-11.5) and Consigli took ninth (44-6) to help the Warriors place 10th (24 points).
Hudson’s Brayden Folan was fourth in the pole vault (12-6), Harrison Mello was seventh in the 2 mile (9:50.20), Jackson Deveney was eighth in the discus (116-1), Jason Blake was ninth in the 800 (2:00.29) and Blake, Mello and Deveney teamed up with Oliver Mello to take third in the 3,200 relay (8:15.73).
Whitinsville Christian’s Benjamin Barron won the 2 mile (9:42.63) and was 10th in the 800 (2:00.44), Eamon Maloney was fourth (150-9) and teammate Thomas Robbins was eighth (140-8) in the javelin to send the Crusaders to 13th with 22 points. Whitinsville Christian’s Nathaneal Vos was seventh in the mile (4:29.86) and 10th in the 800 (2:00.44), Ethan Hand was sixth in the 200 (23.04). Michael Vos, Nathanael Vos, Barron and Matthew Wren also finished eighth in the 3,200 relay (8:31.72).
Division 1 State Championship: St. John’s Daniel Toland was fourth in the 400 hurdles (56.89) and also ran the first leg of the 1,600 relay along with teammates Rory Andrew, Srikar Choudary Adusumilli and Patrick Reine that took seventh (3:27.62) to help the Pioneers place 21st with seven points at Westfield State University.
St. John’s Prep won the team title with 98 points.
Amana Mbugua was sixth in the 400 (49.79) Brady Bartley took ninth in the 2 mile (9:30.61) for Wachusett, while Fritz Asare-Dankwa, Chase Heppe, Jameson Tremblay and Liam Fredericksen were sixth in the 400 relay (43.02) to help the Mountaineers finish 23rd with 5.5 points.
Shrewsbury’s Havish Thotakura was sixth in the 800 (1:55.55) and Francisco Villani was 11th in the 2 mile (9:39.16) and 19th in the mile (4:27.56). Zayd Ibrahim, Daniel Tian, Kelvon Sango and Guoyu Lin placed ninth (43.46) in the 400 relay to send the Colonials to 26th with three points.
Division 2 State Championship: Gerald Gui (12-0) and Dylan Hossein (12-0) finished second and third, while Aidan Lawyer (11-6) was seventh, Anish Karthik (11-6) was eighth and Casey Peak (11-6) was ninth in the javelin to power Westborough to eighth place with 26 points at Merrimack College.
North Andover won the meet with a score of 104.5.
Noah Pierre Louis was fourth in the 400 hurdles (57.11), Emerson Lerman was fifth in the javelin (155-06) and Martin Goddeau finished 10th in the 800 (1:58.62) and 18th in the mile for the Rangers. Westborough also was fourth in the 1,600 relay (3:32.61).
Algonquin finished 19th with 14 points, as Brandon Charles was fifth in the high jump (5-10) and the Titans were seventh in the 3,200 (8:13.99).
Leominster’s Ioane Pa’u was sixth in the shot put (46-3) and teammate William Wilson was 14th in the 400 (52.22).
Division 3 State Championships: Worcester Tech’s Joel Rodriguez was fourth in the 110 hurdles (15.33) and seventh in the 400 hurdles (58.17), Gershom Opoku was third in the high jump (6-2), fifth in the 100 (10.98) and took seventh in the 200 (22.29) – one spot behind teammate Noah Jones (22.20) – as the Eagles took seventh with 40 points at Merrimack College.
Walpole won the team title with 99.5 points.
Worcester Tech’s Leet Leet was sixth (43-7) and teammate Sonset Mas-Oud was eighth (43-1.50) in the triple jump (43-7) and Kayden Gray was ninth in the 400 hurdles (58.40). The Eagles also shined in the relays, with the 1,600 relay team taking second (3:28.05) and the 400 relay team placing third (43.51).
Doherty’s Ayden Collins was second in the shot put (51-7.50) and took 21st in the discus (114-1) and Shepherd Hill’s Riley Lepage was ninth in the discus (129-3).
Division 4 State Championships: Grafton’s Remy Anderson was second in the triple jump (43-1) and seventh in the long jump (20-3.25) as the Gators finished 12th with 22 points at Bridgewater State.
Newburyport won the team title with 78 points.
Nashoba’s Brady Mignault was third in the javelin (172-4), Alex Pucillo was third in the 110 hurdles (15.44) and Eabhan Ambrose placed seventh in the pole vault (10-6). Pucillo also ran the first leg of the 400 relay, along with Justin Devine, Jacob Burke and Gus Fraga, that finished eighth (44.93) as the Wolves took 22nd with 14 points.
Fitchburg’s Cole Lashua was third in the shot put (49-2.50) and the Red Raiders team of Michael Beaulac, Michael Jena, Ethan Kimball and Jamani LaGuerre took ninth in the 400 relay (45.15).
Groton-Dunstable’s Andrew Kosiba was second in the mile (4:19.66) and third in the 800 (1:56.69), while teammate Greyson Duane was fifth (1:58.96). Ashvik Yadav was ninth in the mile (4:29.23) for the Crusaders. Burncoat’s Griffin Spoffard took 10th in the 2 mile (9:54.21).
Girls’ track
Division 2 State Championships: Al Regnier was second in the 100 hurdles (15.05) and the long jump (18-4.75) and Clare Hall was 15th in the mile (5:17.50) as Westborough took second with a score of 55.5 points at Merrimack College.
Billerica won the team title with 69 points and Algonquin was fourth with 53 points.
Westborough also shined in the relays, as the 400 relay team won in 51.19 and the 3,200 relay team was sixth (10:09.13). Algonquin placed third in the 1,600 relay (4:09.63) and took 11th (10:40.52) in the 3,200.
Algonquin’s Tanvi Mehta was fourth in the 400 (58.31) and teammate Jillian Belniak was fourth in the 100 hurdles (15.65). Aleena Garge was fifth in the javelin (97-10) for the Titans.
Tantasqua’s Keoni Savoie was second in the 100 (12.49), while Leominster’s Priscilla Giglio was seventh (12.97) and Westborough’s Ashley Wegiel was eighth (12.99). Savoie also second in the 200 (25.58) and also took 11th in the long jump (16-3). Giglio was 14th in the shot put (30-1.50).
Algonquin’s Charlotte Lipka was seventh (5-0) and teammate Niamh O’Sullivan was 12th (4-10) in the high jump. Jillian Belniak was seventh in the long jump (16-9) and Ella Goss was 11th in the shot put (30-4.75) for the Titans.
Division 1 State Championship: Wachusett’s Terry Kwarteng was second in the 200 (24.80) and third in the 100 (12.35), Naomi Witt was third in the 800 (2:13.63) and 24th in the mile (5:30.67), Bronwyn Daly placed fourth in the discus (107-1), Eva Gagnon was fourth in the javelin (101-10) and Mackenzy Perry placed fifth in the 400 hurdles (1:07.10) as the Mountaineers placed third with 61.5 points at Westfield State University.
Lexington won the team title with 118 points, while Newton North had 75 points to place second.
The Mountaineers also had strong performances from Gabby Cayabyab, who placed fifth (8-6) and teammate Makenna Duplessis (8-6) was seventh in the pole vault, Stella Morneault was seventh in the long jump (17-9.75) and also seventh in the triple jump (36-0.25).
Wachusett also picked up three top 5 finishes in the relays, as Annika Kindorf, Mackenzy Perry, Hadley Castellani-Heller and Witt were third in the 3,200 (9:33.10), Lisa Fagboore, Morneault, Zoe Kraus and Kwarteng were fifth in the 400 (50.74) and Madison Benson, Paige Daley, Elena Annunziata and Kindorf were fifth in the 1,600 (4:03.42).
Shrewsbury finished 20th with 14 points, as Hawa Fofana was second in the shot put (37-2.75) and teammate Brihana Hamilton placed ninth (32-7.50), while Lucy McNeil was fifth in the javelin (101-02) and teammate Olivia Ferguson placed seventh (98-07) to pace the Colonials.
Division 3 State Championships: Valley Tech’s Abigail Bilodeau won the 400 (57.13) and was second in the 200 (25.10) and the Beavers took fourth in the 1,600 relay (4:12.30) to help the team take 13th with 23 points at Merrimack College.
Canton won the team title with 74 points.
Worcester Tech’s Motunrayo Salau was fifth in the 100 (12.50), one spot ahead of teammate Azariah Fullerton (12.53), and sixth in the 200 (25.90), and the 400 relay team placed fourth (50.84) as the Eagles finished 18th with 15 points.
South’s Keylani Amaning was third in the triple jump (36-01.25) and Shepherd Hill’s Kayla Paquette was ninth in the triple jump (34-4).
Division 4 State Championships: Fitchburg’s Jayzelle Florival won the 200 (25.26) and was third in the 100 (12.17) and ran the anchor led of the 400 relay along with Theresa Edouard, Fiona Palmer and Arianna Louissaint that finished second (49.16) as the Red Raiders finished 13th with 24 points at Bridgewater State.
Duxbury won the team title with 52 points.
Groton-Dunstable’s Meghan McEleney was third in both the 800 (2:17.45) and the mile (5:05.29) and teammate Sadie Buczynski was fifth in the pole vault (8-0) to help the Crusaders finish 2rd with 15.5 points.
Nashoba’s Lucy Rein was fourth in the high jump (5-0) and sixth in the long jump (16-10), while Valerie Michel was seventh in the 100 hurdles (16.46) and 17th in the 400 hurdles (1:11.65) to help the Wolves take 24nd with 15 points.
Nashoba’s Leona Azar was sixth in the triple jump (34-8.50), one spot ahead of teammate Ella Kerr (34-5.50), Sierra Nesman was eighth in the shot put (32-9.75) and Ziva Hubbard was ninth in the pole vault (7-6). The Wolves also placed ninth in the 1,600 relay, as the team of Michelly Gamache, Holly Santos, Kerr and Raine finished in 4:14.19.
Grafton’s Rey Polsinelli was second in the javelin (100-3) and placed eighth in the discus (98-6) and teammate Evie Le was ninth in the triple jump (34-1.25), while Auburn’s Isabel Zukowski won the shot put (39.2.75) and teammate Abigail Hunter was ninth in the high jump (4-10), Marlborough’s Samantha Mahoney was fourth in the pole vault (8-6) and seventh in the discus (98-6) and North Middlesex’s Alexis Connor was seventh in the 100 (12.58).
Division 5 State Championships: Whitinsville Christian’s Emily Flagg won the 2 mile (10:30.90) and was third in the mile (5:05.74) to help the Crusaders place fourth with 33.5 points at Bridgewater State University.
Whitinsville Christian’s Audyn DeWeerd was second (9-0) and teammate Fiona Johnson was seventh (7-6) in the pole vault, Cadence Calarese was third in the javelin (107-0) and Lilly Wierenga was 10th in the 400 hurdles (1:09.70). The Crusaders’ Abby Flagg, Inez Smith, Josephina Dyle and Isabella Aloise also took sixth in the 3,200 relay (10:24.57).
North Reading won the team title with 64.5 points.
Oakmont’s Jocelyn Cleaves won the pole vault (9-0), Ruby Heagy was eighth in the 400 (1:01.25) and sixth in the 800 (2:20.47), one spot behind younger sister Libby Heagy (2:20.08), who also took 10th in the mile (5:22.93) to place the Spartans fifth with 28 points.
Oakmont’s Elaina Noyes was 10th in the discus (83-4). The Heagy sisters also were part of the 3,200 relay team along with Grace Hill and Lucie Horgan that took second 10:07.39. The Spartans were second in the 3,200 relay (10:07.39) and the squad of Chelsea Cormier, Katherine Horgan, Mikaela Broncki and Cleaves took seventh in the 1,600 relay (4:17.93).
Nipmuc’s Kameron Getman won the discus (116-0).
Abigail Falconi was second in both the shot put (36-8.25) and the 200 (26.84) and Larrah Gagne was seventh in the pole vault (7-6) to lead Quabbin. The Panthers’ Madeleine Boisselle, Brynn Dunphy, Daniella Gaudreault and Bianca Wilder took ninth in the 3,200 relay (10:44.07).
Notre Dame’s Chloe Cahill was seventh in the 100 (12.72) and Maddie Wilson won the 400 (1:03.92), the mile (4:30.24) and the 2 mile (10:44.53) in the wheelchair division. Cahill also was part of the Rebels’ 400 relay team of Julianna Kay, Maria Busenburg and Chloe Cahill that was eighth (52.96).
Hudson’s Rylie Bossart was sixth in the pole vault (8-0).
