A.J. Brown posts initial reaction to being traded to Patriots

Joining the New England Patriots was always deeper than football for A.J. Brown. For the three-time All-Pro wide receiver, it was an opportunity to accomplish his childhood dream.

The news fans had been waiting to hear for the last three months finally came on Monday, as it was announced that the Philadelphia Eagles were trading the star wideout to the Patriots. It’s a deal that has the Patriots shipping a 2028 first-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick to the Eagles.

And it all feels worth it for a team that won the AFC championship last season and advanced all the way to Super Bowl LX. There was no hesitation in completing the deal with Brown to pair him with burgeoning star quarterback Drake Maye in his third NFL season.

Brown, who grew up a lifelong Patriots fan, reacted to the move on social media.

The Patriots will head into the 2026 season with a significantly improved wide receiving corps that includes Brown, Romeo Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism III.
