Earlier this week, Enrique Riquelme officially revealed that he will bring Ballon d’Or winner and Real Madrid target Erling Haaland to the club if voted to power.
He also stated that the rest of his promises will be unveiled over the course of the week, and that one more superstar signing has been planned.
Tomorrow, Riquelme will officially announce the name of his second marquee signing, who he has already confirmed as a foreign player. Sky Sports, however, brings to light the identity of that player in advance.
Manchester’s pearl
As revealed by the sports outlet, the name Riquelme has in mind is none other than Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

Indeed, the Norwegian striker is the presidential candidate’s ideal option to strengthen Real Madrid’s front line and make the team competitive again, and he will go all out to ensure the striker is at Real Madrid if he wins.
The only question, however, is how Kylian Mbappe and Haaland can co-exist in the system, especially with Vinicius Jr. also in the starting XI on the flank. As central forwards, the duo will have serious clashes.
A complicated move
Viewed as one of the best strikers in world football, signing Haaland is easier said than done. One factor that makes it possible, however, is the departure of Pep Guardiola from Manchester City.

The departure of the legendary manager kick-starts a new project for the Blues, and will thus trigger internal tensions and instability in the dressing room that Real Madrid can capitalise on.
His long-term contract and massive valuation, however, will demand a record fee to see the move go through and it remains to be seen if it is economically viable.
Further, one must also consider the dressing room instability it may cause and how that can be managed.
