Real Madrid’s search for a new right-back continues to intensify, but one of their preferred options appears increasingly difficult to secure.
According to transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Pedro Porro this summer despite growing interest from several top European clubs, including Real Madrid.
The Spanish defender remains highly regarded at the Santiago Bernabeu, where club officials are evaluating different solutions following Dani Carvajal’s departure.
Real Madrid have spent recent weeks analysing multiple candidates for the position, but Tottenham’s position has complicated any potential move for Porro.
Tottenham unwilling to negotiate
As reported by the journalist, Tottenham view Porro as one of the pillars of their long-term project and are determined to keep him in North London.

The defender continues to attract attention across Europe, with both Real Madrid and Manchester City linked with the player in recent months; however, Tottenham’s position remains unchanged.
In fact, it is said that Tottenham will do everything possible to retain Porro because he is considered an important player by both the club hierarchy and new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian coach views the Spanish full-back as a “crucial piece” of his squad as he begins his planning for the new season after a difficult campaign.
That confidence has effectively closed the door on negotiations for the time being, making any immediate transfer highly unlikely.
Denzel Dumfries could be the solution
With Porro becoming increasingly difficult to sign, Real Madrid may now accelerate their pursuit of other targets.

One player who continues to feature prominently on the club’s shortlist is Denzel Dumfries.
The Inter Milan defender has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid and, unlike Porro, his situation appears far more straightforward.
Real Madrid are aware that Dumfries has a €25 million release clause in his contract and if they decide to activate the clause, they would not need to enter lengthy negotiations with Inter Milan.
Instead, the deal would only depend on reaching an agreement with the player himself.
