Even though it is June, it is not too early to start thinking about college football.
EA Sports revealed the official cover for College Football 27 on Tuesday. This year’s standard edition features three players: Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney and Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy.
Moore is heading into his fourth college season and is a redshirt junior. He began his career at UCLA, where he played in nine games in 2023 and threw for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
The QB then transferred to Oregon ahead of the 2024 season. He backed up Dillon Gabriel and only played in three games, using his redshirt. Moore took over as the starter in 2025 and had 3,365 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 15 games.
He was viewed as one of the top quarterback options in the 2026 NFL draft class, but instead chose to return to college for another year.

Toney took little time in making an impact at Miami. He led the ACC in receptions (109), receiving yards (1,211) and touchdowns (10) in 2025.
Lacy began his career with Missouri in 2024 but played only six games. He then transferred to Ole Miss. The RB played in 15 games and led all of college football with 306 carries. He also led the SEC with a whopping 24 rushing touchdowns.
Despite his former head coach Lane Kiffin taking a new job at LSU, Lacy did not enter the transfer portal and is back with the Rebels for his junior season.
This will be the third installment of the iconic franchise since its revival in 2024. That year, Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Colorado WR/Defensive back Travis Hunter and Michigan RB Donovan Edwards were featured on the cover.
Last year, CFB26’s cover only featured two players, and both are wide receivers. Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith were the cover athletes.
As usual with the video game, there will be another cover for the “deluxe edition,” but that cover will only be featured on the hard copy of the game. Anyone who purchases the deluxe edition digitally will see the standard cover icon on their system.
