Florida basketball’s Alex Condon selected to Australian national team

Florida basketball’s Alex Condon has been named to the Australian men’s basketball national team.

The rising senior has been selected to the 12-man roster for the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in his hometown of Perth.

The event will be held from July 3-6, marking Condon’s debut with Australia’s senior national team.

Condon earned All-SEC honors during his junior season, averaging 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists.

Condon is notably the third Gator to compete for the senior national team. Andrew Nembhard competed with Canada in 2019, while Mike Rosario played for Puerto Rico in 2012.

Condon, who made the announcement to return to the program in April, was considered the No. 47 draft prospect and No. 11 center by CBS Sports. In his three-year career, he appeared in 107 games and made 70 starts.
