11 Missouri baseball players enter portal after Monday opening date

Eleven Missouri baseball players have entered the transfer portal since it officially opened Monday, June 1.

Most notably, outfielder Tyler Macon, true freshman standout Blaize Ward, outfielder Kaden Peer and right-handed pitcher Keyler Gonzalez are among the players expected to leave the program this offseason.

Shortstop Gehrig Goldbeck, RHP Keagen Kohlhoff, third baseman Chris Patterson, RHP PJ Green, RHP Kadin Muckley, infielder Peyton Basler and LHP Todd Feurtado III have also started the transfer process shortly after the 2026 window opened.

A team spokesperson confirmed to the Tribune that 10 players — all players listed above except for Basler — have officially been entered into the portal database. Basler has indicated via his personal X account that he intends to transfer, which likely means that his name also will be officially entered into the portal soon.

The college baseball transfer portal is officially open for new entries between June 1-30.

Mizzou went 24-31 this past season with a 6-24 record in SEC regular-season play, which was last in the league. The Tigers won a postseason game for the first time in nine years with a first-round SEC Tournament victory, but the program still has not made an NCAA Regional since 2012.

Among players with 50 or more at-bats this past season, Macon (.327), Ward (.296) and Peer (.266) were second, third and fifth on the team for batting average this past season. Ward and Peer started 43 and 42 games, respectively, for Mizzou this past season, and Macon appeared in 34 games.

Gonzalez, a junior, made 11 appearances on the mound for Mizzou this past season, including three starts. He had a 5.02 ERA and a 3-1 record, which tied the most wins among the Missouri pitching staff this past season.

Most of Mizzou’s other portal entries were reserves or backups this past year. Both Goldbeck and Basler started more than 30 games for Missouri in 2025 but were limited this past season, with Basler sidelined due to injury. Patterson made 54 starts for Mizzou over the past two seasons and was .234 at the plate.

Missouri head coach Kerrick Jackson is expected to return for his fourth season at the helm in 2027.
