Tennessee softball ended its season in the Women’s College World Series semifinals for the third time in the last four seasons.
The No. 7 seed Lady Vols won three straight games to make it to the semifinals at Devon Park, but they fell in a doubleheader to No. 2 seed Texas, the reigning national champion, on June 1.
Tennessee will lose three seniors to graduation, including star pitcher Karlyn Pickens, who leaves the program as one of the greatest players to play for the Lady Vols.
Tennessee finished the season 49-12 and tied for fourth in the SEC at 16-8. The Lady Vols were a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season and hosted both regionals and super regionals, which they swept en route to their 10th WCWS appearance in program history.
The transfer portal window for softball begins June 8 and will last until June 22. Players can commit to new schools after that window, but must enter the portal during that window in order to be immediately eligible next season.

Saviya Morgan
Sophomore outfielder Saviya Morgan announced June 3 she intended to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left. Morgan started in 59 games as a freshman when she hit .340 with 48 runs scored, 14 RBIs and 25 stolen bases.
The Columbia, Tennessee, native only started in 10 of her 33 appearances this season, hitting .257 with five RBIs, two doubles and 10 runs scored in 35 at-bats. She had a .366 on-base percentage with four stolen bases.
