Scripps, DirecTV carriage dispute
DirecTV removed channels from the E.W. Scripps Company on Sunday, May 31, after the two companies failed to reach an agreement for carriage of those stations, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.
That means DirecTV viewers in Cincinnati — both satellite and streaming — will be without the local ABC affiliate, WCPO (Channel 9), which could impact their ability to watch the game. It is not clear how long this dispute will last.
Scripps stations have since launched a campaign to “get a deal done,” the Akron Beacon Journal writes, and are asking viewers to call DirecTV.
