Clemson baseball lost one of its biggest pieces when catcher Nate Savoie entered the transfer portal, and national evaluators wasted little time recognizing just how significant that departure was.
According to 64Analytics, Savoie is currently ranked as the No. 1 player available in the transfer portal. The ranking was shared Monday by The College Baseball Show, placing the former Tiger atop a list featuring some of the most sought-after players in the country.
Savoie arrived at Clemson with plenty of accolades after a standout freshman season at Loyola Marymount, where he earned Freshman All-America honors, was named WCC Freshman of the Year and blasted 20 home runs in 53 games.
The catcher led the Tigers with a .329 batting average while adding 16 home runs and 52 RBIs. His offensive production helped make him one of the most dangerous bats in Clemson’s lineup throughout the season and one of the top catching prospects in college baseball.
