Florida A&M collected five championships during the 2025-2026 athletic year, bringing its total to 18 national titles and 205 conference trophies.

But who had the best championship run for the Orange and Green?

The Florida A&M Rattlers celebrate a play during an NCAA volleyball game at the Al Lawson Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Rattlers’ volleyball team won the first title of the season, winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship for the fourth time in five years and back-to-back for the second time. In November 2025, FAMU had to take the hard route, winning the tournament as a No. 8 seed and beating Southern 3-1 to go to the NCAA Tournament.

Then the spring rolled around, and FAMU’s women’s track team swept the SWAC Indoor in February to add to its 2024 win in May’s Outdoor Championships to win in consecutive years. FAMU broke multiple records and earned top placements among Historically Black Colleges and Universities runners during the championship wins.

FAMU men’s golf had its third straight championship season, winning the NCAA Division I PGA WORKS Collegiate national title. It added to the Rattlers’ PGA WORKS title in 2024 and a SWAC championship win in 2025.

Florida A&M golfer Sascha Robinson celebrates after the Rattlers won the PGA WORKS Collegiate National Championship at The Park at West Palm in West Palm Beach, Florida, Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Rattler softball has a storied history, but hadn’t won a championship since the coach Veronica Wiggins era in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in 2017. FAMU reemerged in the championship picture after nearly a decade by beating the Southern Jaguars 2-1 to claim the program’s first SWAC championship and earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
