Chelsea have been quoted a new price to sign Barcelona attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez after manager Enzo Maresca held talks with the player.
The Blues have expressed interest in signing Lopez this summer, making an initial bid of around £43 million, which was rejected by Barcelona, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona now wants £78 million for Lopez. The Spain international is reportedly considering his future at the LaLiga champions and has had several phone calls with Maresca about a potential move.
Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to work on other deals before the transfer deadline next Monday. The club has agreed on a deal with Manchester United for winger Alejandro Garnacho, which will bring Chelsea’s summer spending close to £300 million. Despite this, Maresca’s side are not yet ready to conclude their transfer business.
