Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an update on the fitness of Cole Palmer ahead of Saturday’s West London derby against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer sustained an injury during the warm-up before Chelsea’s 5-1 victory over West Ham last Friday.
The England midfielder will miss the match alongside Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia.
Maresca told reporters:
“Cole [Palmer] is out, Benoit [Badiashile] is out, Romeo [Lavia] is out. The rest are okay.
We need to see day by day [with Palmer], Romeo and Benoit, I don’t think they will be back after the international break, but they will be closer.
I spoke to Thomas [Tuchel], but in the end it is his decision and he decided [not to select him], but he is not available tomorrow, so is normal [that he was not picked by England] and he has some problems.”
