EPL: Amorim Admits He Can’t Promise Future as Manchester United Manager

Ruben Amorim reacts to questions about his Manchester United future after Carabao Cup exit

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has admitted he cannot guarantee that he will remain in charge of the club after the upcoming international break.

The Portuguese coach expressed his desire to continue in the job but admitted that his future at Old Trafford is uncertain following mounting pressure.

United suffered a shock Carabao Cup elimination to League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday, a result that has raised questions about Amorim’s position.

As the Red Devils prepare to host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday, Amorim was asked by reporters if he was confident of keeping his job.

“I don’t know what is going to happen. That is my idea [to continue], but I’m not going to promise you anything about the future,” Amorim said.

“But I am the manager of Manchester United and I think that is not going to change.”
